RICHMOND, Va. — A Richmond sheriff’s deputy has been fired after being charged with stealing perfume from a store.
The sheriff’s office says in a news release that Walter Preston III was charged with shoplifting after he took a $72 bottle of women’s perfume from a Target in Henrico County on Nov. 21.
Sheriff C.T. Woody said Tuesday that Preston was terminated following an investigation.
It was not immediately clear whether Preston has an attorney.
