THE PERFUME Shop's website crashed this morning amid the flurry of Black Friday shopping.

Bargain hunters were left fuming after not being able to complete their discount deal purchases.

The Perfume Shop's website is currently down

One raging shopper, @lyk_aSkyScraper tweeted: "Why the f*** doesn’t @ThePerfumeShop website work when I need it."

While another said: "@ThePerfumeShop Is your website down? I am unable to complete my order."

The Perfume Shop released a statement on Twitter at 12.11pm today saying: "We're currently experiencing technical issues with our website but we hope to be back up and running as soon as possible - thank you for your patience!"

The website now back up and running, but while it was down the page showed the store's black and red logo on a background of luxurious looking red curtains with the message: "Sorry we're just having a makeover. Won't be long!"

The company tweeted an apology message explaining that they had been experience high volumes of traffic

It seems that The Perfume Shop's loss may have been their competitors' gain.

Their cheeky rivals The Fragrance Shop have been responding to disgruntled tweets explaining that their store is still working and promoting their 20 per cent off Black Friday discount.

They tweeted: "Our curtains are always open! What are you looking for - we currently have 20% off."

The Perfume Shop told the The Sun Online in a comment: "We have been overwhelmed with customers who wanted to snap up our Back Friday offers in stores and online.

"We knew we were going to be busy and have extra colleagues drafted in to help with the amount of orders.

Our website is now back up and running and we’d like to thank customers for their patience and we have added some amazing extra offers as a thank you."
