Kim Kardashian West, 36, is on a beauty-industry roll. After successfully selling out both her powder and cream contour and highlight kits from her KKW Beauty line, the reality star seems to be jumping back into the fragrance category as well.

Yesterday, she posted an image of flowers on her personal Instagram account, captioning it only 'Gardenia'.

The post garnered almost 519,000 likes, but her followers were quick to point out that the flowers, which most suspect to be a nod to an upcoming perfume, pictured were actually orchids, not gardenias - oops.

While the mother-of-two, who is expecting a third child with husband Kanye West via surrogate, may be confused about her florals, she knows what she's doing when it comes to fragrance.

A new scent would be the eighth for the newly platinum-haired celebrity.

The Instagram post isn't the only clue she's launching a perfume, either.  

She brought up the idea of doing one during the Forbes Women's Summit in June, claiming it would be available by the end of 2017.

Then, on a deleted scene of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that E! aired on YouTube around the same time, Kim met with the team at Givaudan, a fragrance and flavors company, to discuss it.

'This team is about having positive vibes, positive energy, nothing about being sexy or confident. I've done that for every other fragrance,' she says in the clip. 'I think this is about like straight-to-the-point healing and clarity.'

The healing and clarity could be a nod to the scent's potential crystal packaging, which she also alluded to in an early summer Snapchat story.

The main fragrance note, however, seems to be non-negotiable for Kim.

As the team gives Kim scent strips to sample, she says, 'I'm losing my gardenia. I don't smell it anymore. I don't know if you want to bump it up with something else, but just whatever can be gardenia and feminine.'

Gardenia has been a mainstay in Kim's fragrance library from the beginning. When her first eponymous perfume launched in 2009, she Tweeted that it smelled like 'jasmine, gardenia, tuberose! It's so me!'

The Givaudan team, who has created Kim's past perfumes, was quick to temper her enthusiasm, though.

'We still needed to create what we consider as the Wow Factor,' says Rose Eckert, VP of fine fragrance sales. 'When you walk into a room, all the eyes are on you, and we want when this fragrance walks into a room, all eyes to be on it.'
