Like it or not, the countdown to Black Friday and Cyber Monday has begun in earnest. Brought to the UK by retail giant Amazon, the day has spawned into a huge high-street sales bonanza.
It is now the biggest shopping event of the year in Britain with dozens of retailers, slashing prices on big ticket products, including perfumes and fragrances, left, right and centre.
Falling on November 25 this year - 24 hours after Thanksgiving in America - the hotly anticipated sales day also kick-starts the Christmas gift-buying season, so there's no better time to stock up on lovely-smelling presents and fragrant stocking-fillers. Don't forget rival sales day Cyber Monday on November 28 too if Black Friday passes you by.
Why buy perfume?
One in five Brits are stuck in a fragrance rut, according to Heathrow's 2016 fragrance report. Apparently the average Brit dabbles with just ten different perfumes over their lifetime, and only settling with two to three “go-to” fragrances at any one time.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday is the perfect chance to test out something new, without breaking the bank. Perfume and aftershave is also a great, affordable Christmas present for both women and men, and there's always a brilliant range of gift sets on offer at this time of year.
What deals to expect this year?
Some shops have already launched their deals pages, including Boots, The Fragrance Shop, Superdrug, The Perfume Shop and Debenhams, but they're staying tight-lipped about exactly what deals will be on offer.
But we can take a look at what was on offer last year to get a rough idea of what sort of bargains you could sniff out.
As well as the stores listed below, many others will likely offer fragrance deals, including John Lewis, Amazon, Very and even eBay, so keep your eyes peeled.
The Fragrance Shop
Last year The Fragrance Shop had many offers, including 15 per cent off gift sets with a code. Although its Black Friday deals haven't launched, it's already tempting shoppers already with 60 per cent off some fragrances, including Calvin Klein, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Hugo Boss and Ralph Lauren.
It's worth noting that the store does free delivery on orders over £40 and gives away free samples with each order.
Boots
Last year, you could save £40.20 on the Juicy Couture Couture Eau de Parfum 100ml which was on sale for £26.80. The Lacoste Eau de Lacoste L.12.12.12 Blanc Eau de Toilette 100ml was also discounted to £28.20 - an £18.80 saving.
There was also 50 per cent off the Emporio Armani She Eau de Parfum and 30 per cent off Michael Kors Woman Eau de Parfum and Versace Eros Pour Femme Eau de Parfum.
Don't forget to show your Boots Advantage Card if you've got one - you can rack up some serious points when buying fragrance. This card gives you four points for every £1 you spend and each point is worth 1p.
Marks and Spencer
In 2015, Marks and Spencer offered 50 per cent off all beauty and fragrance.
Debenhams
Debenhams offered 30 per cent off items in every department last year, and offered VAT free prices on their fragrances.
Superdrug
Last year, Superdrug launched its deals two days ahead of Black Friday. Among the perfume bargains were Dolce and Gabbana Pour Femme Eau de Parfum (25ml) which was down to £30 from £47, and £10 off Paco Rabanna One Million Cologne (25ml)
This year, the store has already launched its Black Friday deals page, and it's promising exclusive early offers from Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22 for Superdrug Health and Beautycard members. For non-members, general Black Friday offers will be available from November 23 - 29. Remember, if you're shopping online, Superdrug also offers free standard delivery.
The Perfume Shop
The UK's largest specialist perfume retailer knocked 15 per cent off when customers spent more than £60 online last year. Deals included a £37.50 saving on Joop! Homme 200ml, and a £34.01 saving on Calvin Klein CK One Shock 200ml.
Be in the know
Black Friday is all about research these days. As the bonanza sales day is less about elbowing your way to the front of the checkout, and more about savvy online shopping, knowing where to look is key.
Sign up to store emails, become a store member for exclusive early deals, and keep an eye on retailers social media presence to get all the information first. It's worth downloading the free store apps on your phone if you plan to shop on the move.
If you want to stay at home and shop from the comfort of your front room, get that laptop charged and keep the Black Friday deals pages of your key stores open in different tabs, so you can keep an eye on lots of stores at once. The Telegraph will also be rounding up the best deals for key stores, so check back here.
Remember, it's likely many retailers will begin offers earlier this year, to avoid the online meltdown and website crashes that blighted last year's Black Friday for many shops. We'll keep you posted.
