Trump's perfume is back in stock at Perfumania, after the chain ... - The Frisky

Remember that store Perfumania that was usually in your local mall and sold like 12,000 fragrances and vaguely scared you because holy crap that’s so much perfume? Well, Trump’s perfume is back in stock there, after the chain previously pulled it last year.

Back in July 2015, Forbes reported that the perfume retailer would be “winding down” on selling all of Trump’s colognes, including Success by Trump and Empire by Trump. The decision allegedly came after Trump called Mexican immigrants rapists, but now that Donald Trump is going to be our POTUS, I guess Perfumania feels like that’s just whatevs.

If you’re curious, Empire by Trump eau de toilette sells for $49.60, and Success by Trump sells for $47.99, so maybe Success is about $2.00 less snazzy-smelling? I truly do not know.

Anyway, when other companies like Macy’s also removed Trump’s products from their stores, Trump said, “They’ll all be back” and blamed political correctness on the splits.

If you’re wondering, Empire cologne says it features “crisp notes of peppermint, rich chai accord and a hint of juicy apple” and “a masculine blend of orange flower and jasmine that mingles with exotic tonka bean.” Success cologne says it has a “masculine combination of rich vetiver, tonka bean, birchwood and musk.” Does Trump wear his own colognes? Probably. I’m guessing every morning he has to choose between Empire and Success and it’s like a huge fucking decision for him. Like, does he want to smell like peppermint chai tonka bean apples, or does he want to smell like a masculine combination? So hard to decide. It’s like choosing a favorite child.

Jezebel also contacted Perfumania Holdings but they haven’t yet responded to their email request for comment. So I guess the company just thought, “Well, if he can be our President, we can stock his perfumes,” which makes sense. If the majority of a nation is OK with this man leading all of us, surely they’re also OK with smelling like a series of masculine blends. Bygones and all that. And strangely, they make kind of a good point. If they pulled the perfumes before when people were outraged, and now the potential consumers of these colognes are either less outraged, or there are people who weren’t outraged before, and aren’t outraged now, who also desperately want to smell like a Christmas store in the mall, mixed with manliness, sell the what they they want.

It’s 2016 and life is weird.
